Farm Manager/Natural Resource Manager
President, Board of Directors, Bundoran Farm Community Association
Bundoran Farm is an innovative real estate development near Charlottesville VA
comprising residential properties as well as more than 2000 acres of preserved
pastures, vineyards, orchards and forests. Tenant farmers conduct most
agricultural activities, but the incumbent, who is the community’s sole employee,
oversees farm activities and assets and generally represents the community to
tenants, contractors, outside visitors and resident lot owners. This is a 40-hour
per week position with occasional evening or weekend obligations.
General Responsibilities and Duties
Routinely monitors the condition of community infrastructure. (15%)
Attends and reports at meetings of the community’s board of directors and other
standing committees. (10%)
Works closely with the board and standing committees, as well as tenants,
vendors and contractors, to achieve community objectives. (50%)
Serves as an important point of contact with Community Group, the community’s
homeowners’ association representative. (8%)
Assists in preparing bi-annual land use tax re-certifications for eligible lot owners.
Responds to routine requests for community information from residents as well
as interested outside parties. (10%)
Maintains a comprehensive, readily accessible record system relating to
community association activities. (5%)
Undergraduate degree (BA or BS) or equivalent qualifying employment
Experience in business administration, preferably related to community
Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet analysis, Power
Point, Zoom, Google Earth and/or similar software applications.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and relate comfortably to tenants,
contractors and owners.
Capacity for occasional, strenuous, outdoor physical activity.
Familiarity with farming operations, forestry and relating terminology and
openness to innovative agricultural endeavors.
Salary & Benefits Range
$55,000-$70,000 depending on qualifications and experience. No medical
benefits. Incumbent has the use of a computer and cell phone as well as a
Polaris Ranger and other community owned tools.
